About the LLCOA
(Lime Lake Cottage Owners Association, Inc.)
(An excerpt from the 29th Annual Lime Lake Directory 1968)

The Lime Lake Cottage Owners Association, Inc. became incorporated in Sept. 1959, although its origin was some fifteen years prior.

Its purpose is to mutually benefit the members of the association, for protection of their properties, to improve the water facilities of Lime Lake and to provide social and athletic activities for its members.  The government of the association is vested in the ten members of the Board Of Directors, serving three year terms upon election at the annual meeting.

In the past the LLCOA has endeavored to control the weeds of the lake by use of weed killer, which has been very successful over a short period, however, surveys made by the Cattaraugus County Department of Health have indicated the present method of weed cutting to be the best practical method to control the aging of the lake.  The LLCOA now owns three weed cutters with boats and motors which are available to its members for cutting weeds at their lakefront properties.

The present Board of Directors have a full program for the coming summer, commencing with a street dance on their tennis courts, the annual meeting in June,, the annual July 4th Chicken Barbeque, the annual boat parade, the annual pizza sale, the second ski show by the Lime Lake Ski Club and the closing Labor Day weekend street dance, with the Circle of Flares and moonlight boat ride on Sunday, Labor Day eve.

The continuing build-up of activities have united the Lake community into a closer group.  Within the past year the LLCOA has started a program of stump removal in the Lake and has cooperated with the County Health Board to improve the conditions existing in the Lake.  Although the association membership is confined to 60 percent of the cottage owners, this will surely encompass a greater percentage of the cottage owners when they become aware of the benefits they reap through the nominal annual dues.
