LIME
LAKE
At the outlet, of
the lake of the same name, contains a hotel, a grist-mill, district
school-house, and half a dozen dwelling-houses. Here was established the first
store and mills in the town, also the only woolen-works that ever existed in
Machias. These works of MESSR. FOLLETT
& COLEGROVE,
about 1835, were kept busy day and night. People came from distant places,
camped out and awaited their turn to get work done.
